Alcalali is a Valencian municipality, belonging to the county of the Marina Alta, in the province of Alicante, Spain.
It is situated in the Vall del Pop Valley between the Serra del Ferrer mountain and the mounts of Segili. Alcalali is flanked by the villages of to the north, Jalon to the east, Parcent to the west and Tarbena to the south.
A quiet sleepy village with around 1300 inhabitants, but with everything you need at hand : Post office, town hall, tobacconist, greengrocer, bakery, pharmacy, bars and restaurants and a weekly market on Fridays.
The surrounding areas to the village are mainly almond groves and vineyards. Once the main source of income in this agricultural village. The ethnological museum, located in the old olive oil mill has an interesting display of how life was in the days of old around Alcalali and surrounding areas. In February the almond trees are in full blossom creating a thick frothy pink and white surge of color across the valley.
The main patron saint fiestas of Alcalali are celebrated at the end of June running into July and you can expect to find parades, paella competitions, firework displays and dancing to live music in the village square until the early hours of the morning!
